The C114 cable consists of two insulated stranded wires that are in a twisted copper shield. Oxygen-free copper (OFC) with a high degree of purity (99.99%) is used as the material of conductors and shield. OFC copper has high conductivity and corrosion resistance, and is widely used for the manufacture of HI-FI class audio equipment components.
The C114 cable is round in shape and the outer insulation is available in black, gray or white. The insulation of the internal conductors also has a different color, which facilitates the installation and desoldering of the cable.
Between the copper screen and the outer insulation there is an additional cotton layer, which provides high mechanical resistance to tearing, as well as protection against twisting.
The C114 cable is widely used for the manufacture of connecting cords for switching audio equipment with XLR and JACK connectors.
