AKM AK4493S DAC
The SMSL SU-1 is based on the use of the AKM AK4493S 32bit DAC chip, using the proprietary VelvetSound™ technology. This one allows a quality digital / analog conversion with a low level of distortion and a wide dynamic range. The result is a sound reproduction that is as rich as it is accurate for a beautiful listening experience.

XMOS XU316 USB Interface
The SU-1's USB-C input is combined with a powerful XMOS XU316 interface, efficiently processing the received audio signal. In combination with the AK4493S DAC, it allows the SMSL SU-1 to support high resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512.

MQA Decoder
The SU-1 also features an MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) decoder. This format offers a very high sound quality, as close as possible to the studio recording, each file being authenticated by the artist, the producer or the copyright holder. SMSL's DAC also supports MQA-CD.
